My best advice for losing weight, try your best to stay away
from alcohol however much alcohol on its own has so advantages like its potential
of reducing the risk of high blood pressure. In this article I will show you
why it could be best to keep away from alcohol.
Alcohol has a different way of being metabolized. Alcohol has
been known to change the course of digestion. Assuming you eat other foods
alongside alcohol, it said that alcohol will get the immediate action because
it’s considered a toxin to the body.
Another problem comes when you consume alcohol on an empty
stomach, its molecules will diffuse through the stomach wall and will reach the
brain just in a matter of minutes. Also drinking large amounts of alcohol
affects the brain areas involved in speech, vision, reasoning and judgment.
In the liver, alcohol is given the first priority. This means
the liver focuses on the processing of the alcohol ignoring other processes
until it finishes processing it.
Thus if all the liver functions is focused on processing the
alcohol, if you had a meal containing carbohydrates and fat, the calories from
these foods are converted in to body fat and carried away for permanent storage
in the body.
Alcohol also causes water loss and dehydration. When water is
lost, minerals are lost alongside it. These minerals are vital to maintaining
fluid balance, chemical reactions and muscle contraction and relaxation.
Alcohol also has no nutritional value, thus it only contributes
empty calories to the diet.
Furthermore, alcohol induces sleep. However this sleep is not
that deep, as a result of less rest, the body is triggered to demand for more
calories the next day thus this make the person consume more food.
Alcohol also stimulates the appetite. Studies carried out show
alcohol makes the person crave for greasy or fried foods which eventually add
to your waistline.
Alcohol also causes increased secretion of acid causing the
stomach lining to be inflamed thus over time alcohol leads to health problems
like stomach ulcers. Liver disease and heart troubles.
